Cross-species characterization in the reproduction of Spodoptera sunia (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Background: The research focused on evaluating the biological and reproductive parameters of species Spodoptera sunia with introduction field genetic material, in Noctuid Insect Breeding Laboratory. Methods: study was pre-experimental using three treatments 30 individuals repetitions. The were collected from field, transferred to laboratory under semi-controlled conditions temperature humidity, later they quarantined for up generations assembly test where crossing carried out. In measurement parameters. Results: results showed that relation number pupae T2 34 males 26 females, T3 33 males, 27 T1 obtained females. average weight female 0.2112 mg 0.2401 mg. eggs nine days oviposited 196 egg masses, seven 59 masses oviposited, 160 oviposited. length parameter mm larval development, mm. Finally, development stages, T2, 24 18 days. adult stages it 12 10 stage pupal eight days. Conclusions: It is concluded presented most optimal results. It recommended introduce material every six months maintain a good production larvae laboratories reproduction insect breeding.
